Sound Work Sessions/ What to Expect

Any kind of holistic healing is affected by the joint efforts of the client and the practitioner together creating a clear field in which balance and flow is the natural outcome. I like to begin with a conversation about those areas of imbalance that you’d like to bring into greater harmony. This dialogue, plus an intake form, will give me some insight into your patterns and preferences and help show the way forward.

My skill is in listening, holding space and intention and intuiting the sounds and rhythms needed to help you open to the place where healing can happen. Sound work is a process rather than a product. The body responds on a cellular level to sound, particularly over time. When you participate in creating the sound the effects are even more powerful.

Wow, I've been gone a long time. There's been so much learning under the bridge but it's only in retrospect that I can even begin to talk about it. For starters are the constant reminders that we (the practitioners) aren't doing the healing. Reminders to let go of outcomes. Remain in the heart. Intend to be in service to the creator and creation and in harm to none. Ground yourself in the vibration of love. Never speed up. Always ask permission to channel healing. Ask if the client wants to be healed, and on and on. These aren't small tasks. They're perhaps the biggest part of what we'll be doing, holding a loving, open, healing environment for the the client to feel safe within. The actual healing itself? Oh yeah, that's done by the Divine within you. It's a paradigm shift, baby!

After learning about the color and frequency associated with increasing levels of serotonin in the body my mind goes immediately to other hormones and how to affect them, particularly female hormones and how we might affect the way we experience menopause. Once I've done some research into this I'll be looking for women who are willing to participate in some sound healing sessions. I'm thinking a group treatment where we can talk about the experience and share outcomes and thoughts. I've not suffered particularly, at least in the ways I've heard expressed by some others. No mood-swings, no notable flurries of hot flashes, but in other ways that have been equally surprising. Anyone out there interested in pursueing this with me?

Fascinating  SH class last night with Randy Masters. Check out his website. We're learning about the original solfeggio sequence before it became the even-tempered Do Re Mi of our childhood music training. Did you know that the original frequencies associated with these symbolic sounds did not form a recognizeable scale as we know it, were derived from the numeric values of the Hebrew (and earlier languages) letters, and are all contained within the keypad ordering of numbers on your telephone? 147, 258, 369, the vertical listing of the keypad numbers and the various permutations of these numbers are the specific frequencies associated with the awakening of consciousness, sometimes referred to as the Bible Codes. I can't wait to start working with them. Anybody up for being a guinea pig with me?

The results from the global SH initiative on Valentines Day are in. Those of you who toned Ah at the appointed time will want check out the following links.   Once you get there click on the GCB Dot Color link to understand what the different colors mean and then click on Global Brain Paintings to see a fantastic picture of what millions of people toning together looks like in arcs of color above the planet. This is not a joke folks. We need to keep putting out the intention to heal, to bring peace, to reset out consumer tendancies and embrace a plan for abundance that meets the needs of all. We can do this!

So, my blood pressure is high which is not so unusual for a woman of my years and family history, but kind of a shock for someone who has been basically healthy and a follower of natural healing practices for at least 28 years. I decided that I would start putting the sound healing to the test as well as following some diet and herbal directives. I also purchased a mat studded with little plastic "stones" that is meant to be walked upon. It's a common meditative and healing practice in parts of China and has the added benefit of lowering blood pressure. I've been employing a sound meditation practice for at least 3 weeks at the level of about  40 mins.-1 hour daily without noticeable effect, on the blood pressure front at least. But after walking on the mat for one day and taking one half day of the herbs my blood pressure dropped 20 points. Hmmm. What to make of this?

How did it get to be 3 days into February? There's not much new on the SH front. I continue to practice my daily required 21 minutes, and then some, as was my way before the assignment was given. Last night at the Sound Meditation gathering that I hold twice monthly we went native, so to speak. Using two Honoring Songs from two different Native American tribes we honored those folks brought into the circle as well as those body parts that serve us 24/7 without complaint or direction. I wanted to touch on the macro and micro level. When was the last time you honored your heart for beating all day and night, unthanked, undirected? Try it. When you remember that all is vibration of the very same kind, only varying in frequency, then shouldn't the heart and lungs be honored as much as our new leader, or the beloved religious mentor who has passed on, or the child who is shifting their focus to a much needed new direction?

I've always been fascinated by the power of the voice to move me. I didn't have a clue when I was singing along to Carole King and Joni Mitchell back in the day that my voice would become the vehicle for transformation that it has, but I certainly understood that my deepest emotions were evoked with its use. An early inkling came when I sang with a local gospel choir back in the mid 90's. The music regularly brought me to tears and I felt deeply the yearning and devotion in that form. I did not however ascribe to the belief system as was requested by that community and gradually fell away from the project. Since discovering toning about 6 years ago I've been on a quickly deepening path. In the same way that labyrinth walking opened up a level of meditation that I'd never been able to achieve with endless sitting, so did toning take me to still deeper places. It's so simple that people aren't often wowed by it at first glance.
